Check out this video for dubstep producer xKore’s remix of “Another Day” by Modestep featuring Popeska. The original was a hit for the the electronic band from the UK, and now the remix is starting the gain headway on airwaves across the pond. The video follows a boy’s social ascension from nerd to the “cool kid” at his high school. You’ll notice a lot of hardcore/rock influence here as Modestep typically performs live with a guitarist, making a solid foundation for a hard-hitting dubstep remix. Their new album Evolution Theory is coming January 14th and this track will be available on the deluxe version.
Last week I posted the new jam from Pusha T featuring Popcaan & Travis Scott, “Blocka”. He was in Jamaica at the time filming the video and just like that, the video is here for the public. You’ll find Pusha in the Jamaican slums surrounded by native gangsters, a chilling image when you realize a few of them don’t look any older than 13. Still no release date for his Wrath of Caine mixtape, only that it’s coming soon.
Check out this video for “Love & War” from Wolfgang Gartner, a single that very quickly became one of my favorite electro-house songs to come out this year. It was filmed in the midst of his Love & War tour on 10/27/12 at The Warfield in San Francisco. Chances are if you were up front at that show, you’ll find your face somewhere in the clip.
If you haven’t heard already, Rockie Fresh is one of the newest members to the Maybach Music Group family. He’s certainly got a different style than most of the MMG cast, but no one’s criticizing diversity. Rockie just dropped the music video for “Nobody” off his upcoming mixtape Electric Highway, set to be released January 21st. The track has average bars at best, but the production is solid, and damn, this video! In a Tron-esque setting, Rockie leans back in his Delorean, spitting bars and toking up with city lights ahead of him. Some trippy shit going on in this video for sure. If you aren’t trying to wait till January for this track, head over to his website where you can grab it now for free.
A$AP Rocky finally got around to dropping the video today for “Fuckin’ Problems” featuring the all-star cast of Drake, 2 Chainz, & Kendrick Lamar. The minute I heard the song for the first time, I knew it was going to be one of the biggest hip-hop joints of the year. The video has exactly what you would expect from the crew: lots of booty dropping, gold chains, hoop earrings, and plenty shots of Drake in a leather jacket.
